South Chungcheong Province Cheonan Office of Education (Education Director Cha Deok-hwan) convened the '2026 Academic Year Dauri Customized Korean Education and Professional Counseling Program Operation Council' on October 16 (Friday).

The 'Dauri Korean Language Education and Professional Counseling Program' is a customized support project for out-of-school students with migration backgrounds who have difficulty with communication and need Korean language education, operated by Cheonan Office of Education. By utilizing a pool of personnel such as bilingual instructors, it provides comprehensive support including ▲basic learning and Korean language learning guidance ▲school life and career counseling ▲support for adaptation to Korean life, as well as professional counseling support for emotional stability and smooth school adaptation.

This council meeting was convened to review the operational achievements of support programs carried out throughout the year and to establish a more efficient support system for migrant-background students by reflecting diverse voices from the field.

On this day, the roundtable discussion was conducted with Korean language education instructors and professional counselors as the central focus. The main discussion topics included ▲sharing excellent cases of Korean language education and professional counseling programs for the 2026 academic year ▲discussing effective methods for utilizing educational materials such as textbooks for Korean language education and career counseling ▲and suggestions for operating substantive programs for the 2027 academic year.

The attendees shared the experiences and know-how gained by directly guiding and counseling students with migration backgrounds at the site, and actively presented various opinions on progressive solutions to help students successfully adapt to schools and society beyond language barriers.

A representative from the Office of Education stated, 'We express our gratitude to the instructors and counselors who are dedicating themselves on the front lines so that students with migration backgrounds can learn Korean and adapt well to school life based on emotional stability.' He further announced, 'We will actively reflect the opinions raised at this front-line consultation meeting and strengthen a customized support system tailored to the specific needs of each student with a migration background in the 2027 academic year.'
