[BAREUM CNB Publisher Alex Kim]  - More important than grades is the relationship... reflecting on the child's happy growth and the parents' role

Cheonan City High School for the Unbelievable (Principal Jang Ho-jung) held the second parent training session titled 'Mama's Apology Letter' featuring a lecture by author Yu In-nam at the Daom Library on the school campus on October 22 (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m., targeting parents.

This seminar was organized by the Creative and Moral Education Division of Cheonan Budang High School and was held under the theme 'Dreaming Children! Respected Parents! Seminars and Special Lectures to Help the Happy Success of Children and Parents.' It was prepared to help parents and children understand each other and form healthy relationships during the high school period when concerns about children's studies and career paths deepen.

Author Lee U-nyam, invited as a speaker, is the author of 'Mama's Apology Letter,' in which she documented the conflicts and processes of relationship recovery experienced while working as a teacher for a long time and raising two children. In particular, she has emphasized the role of parents who reflect on their own parenting style that prioritized their children's grades and success, and who recognize and respect their children as they are.

On that day, the lecture addressed methods of dialogue that enhance children's self-esteem, conflicts arising between parental expectations and children's choices, and parental attitudes toward academic stress and career concerns. Parents spent time reflecting on their parenting styles and considering communication methods that can be implemented at home.

In particular, it focused on the role of parents who support their children to design their own lives rather than equating their children's achievements with their own success. Through this, it provided an opportunity to look together at the emotional stability and happy growth of children, moving away from a perspective centered on grades and entrance examinations.

Cheonan Buldang High School has created an opportunity to reflect on its role as a partner supporting its children's growth, forming a shared understanding between families and schools regarding children's education through this training session.

In the future, the Cheonan City High School of the Future's Creative and Humanistic Department plans to continue operating various parent education programs and humanities programs that allow parents to share their educational concerns and enable cooperation between families and schools.
